Namibian Dillish wins Big Brother The Chase! (http://adf.ly/?id=4953828)

After expressing her desires to be the first woman to win the Big Brother grand prize since Zambia’s Cherise did so seven seasons ago, Dillish has done it for all of Africa’s women!
The gorgeous Namibian started her Chase race as the proverbial underdog and was labeled everything from lazy to a pampered princess. As the Chase rolled on however, Dillish quickly emerged as a very strong contender for the Chase title and won her fellow Housemates and Africa over, with her quirky, accented alter ego, aptly titled Princess Dillish.
Dillish hugs Cleo in happy tears...
Dillish hugs Cleo in happy tears…
The Namibian made sure to stay away from trouble and coasted through the Chase by taking her place behind the scenes. While her fellow Housemates got themselves into hot water, fighting and gossiping their way to what they hoped was the top of the mountain, Dillish remained grounded and maintained cordial relations with her fellow Housemates.
The only time the Namibian got herself in a spot of trouble was when she and her good friend, Nigeria’s Melvin, had a disagreement after she told her fellow Housemates about a relationship he was involved in, which was less than stellar. Dillish and Cleo proved to all and sundry that women are indeed a force of nature. The two hotties pipped their male counterparts, Elikem and Melvin to the Top 2 while, as well as their close friend Beverly.
Before the big news was delivered, Pebbles the fish surprised all and sundry with one last speech. “On behalf of myself and the other fish, I would like to congratulate you on your amazing feat. You are the specialest ladies in Africa,” Pebbles said.
However, one thing is clear! Tonight is Dillish’s night and oh whata moment it was! As soon as the Namibian was announced the winner of the Chase, the Namibian broke down in a heap of tears at the realisation that she has a cool USD 300 000 sitting in her bank account. Yes Africa. She came, she saw and she conquered. In heels even!

First Barca Goal Thrills Neymar

24 August, 2013

Barcelona star Neymar was delighted to have netted his first goal for the club after coming off the bench to equalise against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup.
The Brazilian was once again consigned to starting among the substitutes, but he found the net almost immediately after entering the fray on the hour mark.
The 21-year-old headed home a cross from compatriot Dani Alves to cancel out former Barcelona forward David Villa’s opener at Estadio Vicente Calderon, and he spoke of his delight at opening his account for the Blaugrana.
“I’m thrilled to have scored my first goal,” Neymar told AS. “I’m happy, because I came on and was able to help the team in a difficult situation.
“Atletico are a strong side, and they showed that again in this match. It’s a good result and now we have to do the job at home.”

No Public Send-off For Bale, Says Villas-Boas

24 August, 2013

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas says he does not expect Gareth Bale to make a farewell appearance at White Hart Lane before completing his anticipated transfer to Real Madrid.
Bale is reportedly close to joining Madrid for a world-record fee that could exceed $132 million, with the Spanish giants having erected a stage at Estadio Bernabeu in apparent preparation for his presentation to the club’s fans.
Due to injury, the 24-year-old Welsh forward has not played for Spurs since a friendly appearance in mid-July, but Villas-Boas does not think he will be present to say goodbye to the club’s supporters during Sunday’s home game with Swansea City.
“We have no rules or obligation for players not selected to be on the bench or in the stadium, so I don’t expect Gareth to be seen at the club,” Villas-Boas said.
Chelsea are thought to have hijacked Villas-Boas’s bid to sign Brazilian playmaker Willian from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala, but Spurs are reportedly in talks with Roma over a move for Argentine attacking midfielder Erik Lamela.

Second Man Held Over Mumbai Rape

24 August, 2013

A second man has been arrested over the gang-rape of a 22-year-old journalist in the Indian city of Mumbai.
photo
A 19-year-old man was arrested on Friday over the attack at an abandoned textile mill in the centre of the city. Three others are still being sought.
The woman, who was on a photo assignment with a male colleague at the time, is in hospital with multiple injuries. Her colleague was beaten. The case has renewed public outrage over sexual violence in India.
There were nationwide protests last December following the gang-rape of a 23-year-old student on a bus in the capital, Delhi. She later died from her injuries.
The case led to the introduction of tougher laws against sexual violence, but many are asking whether these have had any effect.
Police have promised swift justice and deployed elite units to search for the suspects, sketches of whom were released on Friday.
A 19-year-old unemployed man from south Mumbai was arrested on Friday, and the second suspect was arrested before dawn on Saturday.
The victim of Thursday's attack worked as an intern with a Mumbai-based English magazine and had gone to the Shakti Mills - a former textile mill that now lies abandoned and in ruins - with a male colleague for a photo shoot, police said.

Some countries in Africa that have leveraged on tourism as source of foreign exchange revenue often do so through promotion of their tourist attractions with safaris photographs showing exotic floral and fauna.
Kenya is today famous for its safari and large number of national parks that attract tourists as majority of tourists visiting the country often plan safaris even if that is not their main reason for travelling to Kenya.
Nigeria with her with rich and unique array of ecosystems, and a great variety of wild fauna and flora can attract such tourists too, if only the national parks in the country are promoted as tourist destinations.
Each of the national parks in the country namely Chad Basin, Cross River, Gashaka Gumti, Kamuku, Okomu, Old Oyo and Kainji, all have their peculiar animal and plant resources.
Nigeria’s National Parks have wide variety of interesting sites, for example, cultural, historical, archaeological unique ecosystems, and other biophysical attractions for all types and classes of visitors including scientists and researchers.
Today, Travels and Tourism presents some of the unique features of some of Nigeria’s national parks.
Cross River National Park
It covers a total area of about 4000sq km of mainly primary moist tropical rainforest ecosystem in the North and central parts, and mosaic vegetation on the Obudu Plateau. It is Nigeria’s last Great Rainforest Reserve, and the closest to the Mangrove Swamps on the coastal region.
Wilderness experience: A trip to the Park is primarily important for exploring one of the oldest rainforest in the world. The dense canopy, the tree trunks with their huge buttresses, the coolness of the environment, the freshness of the air and the sweet songs of the forest can never fail to lift even the most casual visitor into that tranquil realm of the soul.
The 12km Erokut jeep track and nature foot trails at Erokut – Akamkpa have been specially developed for this experience.
Gorilla tracking: Of the many animal life forms in the Park, the most important is the Cross River Gorilla a sub species that is endemic to the Park in all of West Africa. Those wishing to track down the gorilla must be prepared however to camp in the Park for a minimum of one week at least.
Game viewing: Visitors to the Park may be lucky to view animals while on a visit to the Bashu salt lick in Okwangwo Division or Mfameyin salt lick in the Oban Sector of the Park or Erukot Gate near the Park Head Office, Akamkpa.
Mountaineering/Hiking: Active tourist can dare the Mbe Mountains by climbing to the summit or they can make the long haul trekking/climbing from Butatong through Balegete to the summit of Obudu Plateau.
File photo: Nigeria’s stand at a tourism fair

Bird watching: The montane grassland and relic forests of the Obudu Plateau offer opportunity for bird watching. There are over 200 species on the plateau.
Botanic garden and Herbarium: The well laid out botanic garden and herbarium in Butatong are open nature classrooms, which offer opportunity for environmental education and biological research.
German fort: This place was once part of the German colony before the Allied Forces ran it over during the Second World War.
Okomu National Park
Okomu National Park is the smallest of the seven National Parks in Nigeria. The Park is a rainforest ecosystem gazetted from the former Okomu Forest reserve in 1935. Today, the Park is a good habitat for numerous endangered flora and fauna species.
Okomu is a home of forest elephants, buffaloes, red river hogs, chimpanzees, leopards, bush baby, putty nosed guenon, porcupine, pangolins, duikers, antelopes among others.
The white throated monkey which is one of the rarest monkeys in the world today is found at the park as well. Butterflies and birds are abundant making it one of the best places for bird watching in Nigeria.
The two tree houses (Old and New) the old tree house built on a 140 feet Silk Cotton tree, while the new tree house with 110 feet height also has 30 meters walkway. Both tree houses were to facilitate sighting, from which a panoramic view of the Park could be observed.
Nature trails
There are network of nature trails leading to all areas of interest in the Park. The nature trails afford visitors a walk through a scenic forest ecosystem that facilitates sighting of wide range of plants and animals species.
Bird watching
With over 200 species of birds recorded at the park, Okomu National Park is very rich in birdlife. The bird hide enables avid bird watchers snipe at unaware avifauna that are wading through the pool overlooked by the hide or foraging within the vicinity.
Boating: Boat cruising can be done on Okomu River within the Park or the Osse River at Park boundary in Inikorogha village.
Fishing sport
The Okomu River provides an ideal venue for sport fishing.
Gashaka-Gumti National Park
It is located in the mountainous region of north-eastern Nigeria adjacent to the international border with Cameroon, and immediately to the north of Mambilla Plateau. The park is the largest and most scenic of all the seven National Parks.
The Park experiences varying pleasant weather conditions, depending on one’s location within the Park.
Fishing sport: Gashaka-Gumti has ideal spots for sport-fishing, one of which is at Mayo Kam near the Hippo-pool. In the dry season the water is crystal clear and one can easily see different varieties ranging from Tiger, Cat fish, Nile perch ,Tilapia fish gliding in the water.
Mountaineering
Gashaka Sector of the Park has rugged undulating mountain terrains, excellent for mountaineering and cave exploration. It contains the highest mountain summit in Nigeria the “Chappal Waddi”, which literally means “ the mountain of death” standing at an altitude of 2,400 meters’ above sea level. It is located in the Gotel mountain range. It is characterized by steep, forested slopes, deep plunging valleysand waterfalls.
Primate watching
Forests in Chappal Waddi, Chappal Hendu, Chappal Yumti, Chappal sirgu and Kwano forest are good primate strongholds. One is sure to sight chimpanzees here or at least hear their calls or see their nests.

Meet a Woman With 22 Personalities: She's A Mother Of Two, A Brothel Madam, A German Speaker, A Millionaire, And More

Foreign
Meet a Woman With 22 Personalities: She's A Mother Of Two, A Brothel Madam, A German Speaker, A Millionaire, And More
When Dawn Taylor walks down the street hand in hand with her two young sons, she looks like any other devoted mum. But Dawn, 31, is not like other mothers. She has multiple personalities – an astonishing 22 of them.
Each personality has its own voice, traits and mannerisms. They can come and go up to 10 times a day, changing without warning in a split second.
They include brothel keeper Madam Taylor, five-year-old schoolgirl Daisy, PC World worker Mary, 60, and aggressive teenager Lashes. There are also a millionaire, Scottish sandwich shop owner, Cornish farm girl, German speaker and a gangsta rapper.
"I feel like I spend half my life drunk," says Dawn, who cannot recall what happens when another personality takes over.
"At the time I think I am in control. To me, I am just me, whether that's Daisy, Mary or even Madam Taylor. But when I wake up and can’t remember a thing the terror sets in."
Dawn, who lives with long-term partner Dean, 36, and their children Connor, 10, and seven-year-old Troy, was diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) – also known as Multiple Personality Disorder – in June.
It followed years of erratic behaviour, which started with depression after Connor's birth.
Dawn, of Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, says: "It's like the other personalities are trying to get me into trouble. Some of them hate Dean and make me say spiteful things to him, even though I love him dearly.
"I found text messages to a friend in my sent-box, telling her I was outside her house and that I was going to hurt her. I had to call and apologise and tell her it was someone else. I felt awful.
"Other personalities even hate the real me. Once I woke up to find a swear word cut on my thigh.
"The scissors were in my hand and there was blood everywhere. I couldn’t remember doing it.
"The only saving grace is that they all love my children. But that doesn’t stop me worrying about what one of them might do.”
Anguished Dawn says: “I just want to be a normal mum.”
The former model, who cannot work because of her condition, adds: “Sometimes, simple things I do as Dawn are a major problem for the other personalities.
"I used to cycle everywhere but once I was riding through town with Troy in a seat on the back. Connor was riding in front when suddenly I switched into little Daisy, who can't cycle. I lost all ability to ride, smashed into Connor and we all fell off. A few weeks ago I came round and was hanging upside down from a tree in the back garden.
"It sounds funny but it was terrifying. One of my child personalities must have climbed up there but when I snapped out of it I couldn't get down.”
Dawn – who takes sedatives, mood stabilisers and anti-depressants to control her condition – is used to people laughing at her and tries to be philosophical about it.
She says: "One of the teenage girl personalities does cheer-leading. I have woken up in the town centre surrounded by people clapping after I have done a routine. My sons think it's funny so I try to laugh along but for me it's really embarrassing.
"The boys can take advantage, too. I have one personality they call Rich Lady, who seems to think she has a huge fortune.
"When she comes out they make me buy them expensive toys and sweets. When I snap back I realise what they've done.
"I woke up once in the living room surrounded by boxes of Lego, computer games and consoles they had made her buy."
Meet a Woman With 22 Personalities: She's A Mother Of Two, A Brothel Madam, A German Speaker, A Millionaire, And More
But life wasn't always like this. Dean, who met Dawn when she was 18, recalls: "She was a beautiful model, full of fun and confidence. We were so in love.
"Then after Connor was born, we were driving down the road one day when she wound down the window and started shouting abuse at someone walking by.
"It was out of character and I asked what she was doing. She looked at me like I was mad. She couldn't remember a thing."

PHOTO: Fearless Mouse Attacks Snake To Save Friend

mouse_attack__europics

A mouse has been given its freedom after it tackled a poisonous snake in a bid to save a fellow rodent at a zoo in China.
The two mice were served up as a live dinner for the snake at Hangzhou Zoo in Zhejiang province, eastern China.
Keeper Wen Shao said: “We always give the snakes live food and we put the two mice into the snake enclosure, but instead of trying to hide like they usually do one of the mice attacked the snake when it saw it trying to eat the other mouse.
“I have never seen anything like that before, usually the mice keep as far away from
the snake as possible but this one caused a lot of damage.
“It was biting the snake on the head as the snake was trying to eat the first mouse.”
He added that the mouse had deserved its freedom after putting up such a brave fight.
“In any case it didn’t do the snake any good either, it was expensive and the mouse
did a lot of damage by biting it on the head,” he added.
Sadly the mouse did not succeed in its bid to free its pal. It died and was later eaten
even if mighty mouse was no longer around to witness it.

Discover Purpose, Discover Success!

JUNE 18, 2013 IN SUCCESS

purpose

Every day we wake up and get set to go out. Some people get ready to go to work, school, a meeting or an appointment.
There is one movement or the other everywhere you go. People are in frenzy; they are  literally taking to their heels. Everybody is in a hurry to get to some place. Where?
The big question however is: how many people really know where they are going in life?
Every journey must have a destination. Life is a journey. Before God allowed us to be   born into this world, He made a plan for our lives. This shows that every single person has a purpose for being alive, but not everyone discovers that purpose. So it is left to you to discover your purpose by asking God who created you and sent you here.
The discovery of God’s purpose is the foundation for successful living and this discovery yields certain benefits.
Purpose gives direction: It inspires us to dream of our destination in life and we only   travel on the road that leads to that destination. When you do not know where you are   going, anyone is free to direct you and any path can take you anywhere. But a sense of  purpose tells you which way to go or not to go.
Purpose launches us on a crusade: Each of us is born to solve a problem. Purpose gives us a cause for which we can be willing to live and die.  It helps us to live a life of contribution. If you are not living for something, you can die for anything. When you    discover the purpose for which you are on earth, you cannot die anyhow. Death only respects the man that knows his purpose for being alive.
Purpose guarantees our ultimate success: “For we know that all things work together for good for them that love God, who are called according to his purpose.”  Provision, protection and divine assistance are guaranteed when we are carrying out God’s assignment for our lives. Your purpose determines the resources you need per time. The reason why you are not getting some things could be because it is not in line with your purpose or it is not time yet. Many years ago, I wanted so desperately to leave the country to supposedly “greener pastures.” I tried all I could but I was denied visa, even to Kenya. Others would have thought it was the work of the enemy or enemies, but now I know it was simply not time yet for me to travel out.
Purpose makes it easier for us to make choices in life: Once you discover your  destination, making decisions on your career, choice of life partner and location becomes easier.
Purpose breeds confidence: Discovery of purpose reveals who we are. It enhances your esteem. It helps us realize that we are not inferior to others, we are only different. When you know your purpose, you will not compare yourself to others. “For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.”
Purpose breeds persistence: Knowing that our success is ultimately guaranteed by God who makes us to hold on in the face of adversity. We realize that negative circumstances are always temporary.
Purpose makes us original: When we are left to ourselves, we usually imitate others.
The discovery of purpose puts us in a class of our own. God specializes in making originals and not duplicates.
Finally purpose keeps you alive: Once God shows you your destination in life, it is inevitable you will arrive there, if you do not give up. Several attempts were made on the life of Christ. But he escaped, because he was destined only to die on the cross.

Discover your purpose and you will be on the path of success!
You will succeed!

Patience

Patience

The subject of patience is one that I find very necessary in the journey of success. This is because a lot of people have gotten the message of faith mixed up.  This has hindered them from being successful. While we thank God for faith, many of us should stop believing that when you are using faith, you are using magic. Some people think God is a magician. God is not a magician; He is a miracle worker. He can change your natural situations and circumstances, but He will not do it like a magician.
I want you to understand that there is a relationship between faith and time and the understanding of this concept is crucial to achieving all-round success.
What does it mean to be patient? Some people think patience is a passive word; but it is not. To be patient does not mean your level of faith should reduce, or that you are withdrawing. To be patient means you remain the same in spite of situations and circumstances because of your knowledge of God’s timing. To be patient means to wait for God’s time without worry but with your faith intact.
Perseverance is another interpretation of patience. To persevere means to hold on, endure; steadfast even though situations and circumstances are pressurizing you left, right and center.
Patience is spiritual power. It is what you need to hold on. Sometimes it seems all the demons in hell are on your own case alone and the truth is that there is nobody who can withstand all this by ordinary will power.
Patience is the spiritual force that helps you hold on; it is the support that holds you from behind and keeps you from moving back and falling down. The fact that God has promised you that thing does not mean it would work automatically at your own time. God has His own plan.
Patience and perseverance are two essential ingredients of success. They are qualities of a good character. Success without a good character will end in failure. Do not think for a minute that success is an overnight operation. No! It is a life-time achievement and it requires an ample dose of patience and perseverance.
God has made all things beautiful in His own time. Most of us do not understand that God lives in timelessness; He does not live in days and nights like we do. If you understand that God has been living for over millions of years, you will know that telling Him three months is too long for you, is a waste of time. The truth about God is that He has a programme He follows, so you cannot rush him into anything.
I consider David as a patient man; even though God had told him he would be king, and Samuel had already anointed him, David still waited for God’s time. Many of us cannot wait like David did; we would have rather killed Saul, to help God fulfill the prophecy. David had three opportunities to kill Saul, yet he refused to force the prophecy to happen.
No matter the odds, it is in your destiny to succeed. Do not take the shortcut
